Dental Crowns and Bridges

We specialize in restoring lost and damaged teeth with high-quality crowns and bridges.

At Orcutt Family Dentistry, we use the latest technology to craft high-quality crowns and bridges to repair lost or damaged teeth, often in just one visit. A dental crown or bridge functions like natural teeth, making chewing and speaking easier. Restore your natural smile. Our experts take special care to ensure that your dental crown or bridge blends seamlessly with your existing teeth.

Same-day CEREC® Crowns

Your permanent crown is created and placed in the office all during one appointment! You do not need to come back two weeks later for a delivery like with temporary crowns. The entire appointment can take about two to two and a half hours and you'll leave the office with your brand new crown and an even brighter smile! The crown is color matched to your other teeth so your smile remains consistent.

  • What is a dental crown?

A dental crown is a custom-fitted cap placed over a damaged or decayed tooth. It strengthens and protects the tooth's structure while restoring its natural appearance and function. They are designed to blend in with your existing teeth and can be brushed and flossed as normal.

Dental crowns have many applications. The first is to be installed over a damaged tooth to cap the existing structure, which restores the damaged tooth so it can be used normally. Crowns can also be attached to dental implants to replace missing teeth; these implants will be surgically inserted into the jawbone and serve as the root for the tooth. This procedure keeps the crown steady and secure.

Additionally, dental crowns may also be used to provide extra support for dental bridges. They do not require any special treatment and can be brushed and flossed as normal.

  • What is a dental bridge?

A dental bridge is a standard solution for missing teeth. Bridges are secured by crowns fitted on the anchoring teeth on either side of the gap, with a replacement tooth in between. Sometimes, a metal mechanism is used instead. They are custom-made and restore the appearance and functionality of your teeth.

  • How do temporary dental crowns work?

Temporary dental crowns are used during a two-visit crown procedure. After preparing your tooth, we fit a temporary crown made from a lighter, less durable material than the permanent crown. This temporary crown protects the tooth while your custom, permanent crown is being created in a dental lab. It ensures that you can continue to eat and speak normally without discomfort. The temporary crown is easily removable, making way for your permanent crown during your follow-up visit.
