Dr. Brian orcutt is proud to announce that that his office is equipped with the state of the art "Waterlase MD" from Biolase technology. Using this laser, Dr. Orcutt can fix most cavities quickly and painlessly without the need of anesthetic or the sound of the drill. The laser technology allows him to fix cavities with amazing precision and then fill them with undetectable white fillings.
Dr. Orcutt also utilizes this laser to treat many forms of periodontal disease. This incredible technology has revolutionized gum treatments. Many forms of mild and moderate periodontal disease can be treated in a few painless sessions. Most of the time only a little numbing gel is needed to treat the entire mouth thus eliminating injections and hours and hours of numbness.
Laser dentistry is ideal for children as well as adults. Anyone that has ever had a fear of the dentist will be pleasantly surprised once they experience dental treatment with the laser. No more shots, no more lingering numbness, no more whining sounds of the drill. It's truly an incredible experience.
Heat, Vibration and pressure are the primary causes of discomfort associated with the use of the traditional dental drill. Since cutting both hard and soft tissues (teeth and gums) with the Waterlase does not generate heat, vibration or pressure, many dental procedures can be performed without anesthetic (shots). Additionally, using the Waterlase for gum procedures reduces bleeding, post-operative pain, swelling and the need for pain medication in many cases.
ACCURACY AND PRECISION
Waterlase dentists are able to remove tooth enamel decay (the hardest substance in the body), bone and gum tissue precisely while leaving surrounding areas unaffected. This conserves and allows you to keep more of the healthy tooth structure.
High speed drills can cause hairline cracks and fractures in the teeth that eventually lead to future dental problems. Waterlase reduces damage to healthy portions of the tooth and minimizes trauma.
IMPROVED CAVITY FILLINGS
Waterlase cavity preparations can increase bond strength of tooth-colored restoration resulting in longer lasting fillings.
LESS BLEEDING AND SWELLING
Due to the conservative, gentle cutting action and coagulating capabilities, the Waterlase performs many soft tissue (gum) procedures with little or no bleeding and less post-op swelling.
FEWER DENTAL VISITS
Since you often do not need anesthesia, a Waterlase dentist can perform cavity preps in all areas of the mouth in just one visit. The technology also gives trained Waterlase dentists the ability to perform many procedures that were previously referred to specialists.
The Waterlase is extremely versatile. It can be used for a wide range of hard and soft tissue procedures. From Decay removal, cavity preparation, root canals, smile design, gum and bone surgical procedures and many others.
Dr. Orcutt's diode dental laser allows us to perform many gum procedures, previously only treatable by traditional periodontal surgery. Unlike traditional periodontal surgery, diode laser treatments are much less invasive and can achieve similar results. Following diode laser gum treatments, the patients exhibits minimal discomfort and can usually resume normally activities the next day. No stitches, no bleeding, and virtually no pain, make this an excellent alternative for many that fear traditional periodontal surgery.
