For Pain-Free Dentistry, We Offer Advanced Dental Laser Technology
Dental work that’s free of pain and numbing? We are pleased to announce that our office can deliver just that with our state-of-the-art "Waterlase MD" from Biolase technology.
Waterlase uses laser technology, familiar as beams of light, as the cutting instrument – essentially vaporizing the tissue it touches. It eliminates not only pain and the shots needed for numbing but the grating noise of the drill and hours of lingering numbness.
We also offer a 940mm Ezlase soft tissue diode laser for gum treatments. Both of these pieces of equipment are fundamentally transforming the way our patients are experiencing their dental visits – children as well as adults.
Here are some reasons you will appreciate the Waterlase:
Patient Comfort
We’ve said laser technology eliminates pain, but how does it do that? The Waterlase does not generate any heat, vibration or pressure – the primary reasons drills cause so much discomfort. In addition, the Waterlase can reduce bleeding, post-operative pain, swelling and the need for pain medication, in many cases.
Accuracy and Precision
The laser beam can precisely pinpoint the tissue the dentist is targeting, whether bone, decay or gum tissue, while leaving the surrounding areas unaffected. With this technology, the dentist can preserve more of the healthy tooth structure. Moreover, it works equally well on soft and hard tissue.
Reduced Trauma
High-speed drills can cause hairline cracks and fractures in the teeth. Waterlase reduces the possibility of this damage, minimizing trauma.
Improved Cavity Fillings
The laser can more precisely remove the decayed areas from the tooth and better prepare the tooth to hold the filling material. This results in a stronger, longer-lasting bond. To ensure your beautiful smile, all our fillings are tooth colored, too.
Less Bleeding and Swelling
The laser can seal blood and nerve endings during treatment, reducing swelling and recovery time.
Fewer Dental Visits
Because numbing is not needed, the dentist using a Waterlase can perform more than one procedure at one visit. Also, Waterlase dentists are trained to perform many procedures that previously were referred to specialists.
Versatility
The Waterlase can be used for a wide range of procedures, for both hard and soft tissues: decay removal, cavity prep, root canals, smile design, gum, and bone surgical procedures, teeth whitening, biopsies and more.
In addition, the 94onm EZlase has nearly revolutionized gum treatments, often requiring no stitches and reducing discomfort and recovery time. Many forms of mild and moderate periodontal disease can be treated in a few painless sessions. Most of the time only a little numbing gel is needed to treat the entire mouth.
