Your First Visit at Orcutt Family Dentistry
Providing the best patient care and experience is our number one priority. You will notice on your first visit to our office that we are very thorough. We will gather all the information we need to properly diagnose any immediate and future dental concerns. We will review your past medical and dental history and create a treatment plan for your optimal oral health. We will give you all the information you need to make the best decision for what’s best for you.
During your new patient exam we will take pictures and x-rays and review them with you and show you what they show us. And for most new patients, we will then clean your teeth keeping your comfort our top priority. Dr. Orcutt will then come in and discuss the findings in detail so you can make the best decisions for your oral care. Dr. Orcutt’s goal is to always give you all the information you need so that you can make your own decision about what is best for you.
Our treatment coordinator will then review the treatment plans with you. She will help you get the most out of your dental insurance benefits and then, if needed, will help you with financing options to help fit any necessary dentistry into your budget and lifestyle. Additionally, sometimes there may be an option to start treatment on the same day or you can schedule for a different day.
On your first visit, please bring the following:
- Any retainers or appliances you wear in your mouth
- A list of questions you have for our team members or Dr. Orcutt
New Technology With a Gentle Touch
We utilize leading-edge dental technology as part of our commitment to providing an exceptional level of dentistry. These tools allow us to detect issues earlier and diagnose and treat more dental issues faster while keeping your comfort priority at all times. You can trust you’re getting only the latest dental technology and treatments when you visit our office.
Digital X-Rays
Our digital X-rays emit less radiation, take images faster without any need for processing, and allow us to optimize the images so we can provide a more precise diagnosis.
Intraoral Camera
A picture explains what words never can, especially when it comes to your teeth. An intraoral camera can take pictures with such detail that it can show cracks and stress marks in a tooth that can’t be seen with the naked eye.
CEREC®
The CEREC® system takes the normal, multi-visit traditional dental crown procedure and cuts it down. You’ll receive your permanent, natural-looking restoration faster than ever!
Cone Beam Computed Tomography
Known as CBCT, this advanced imaging technique uses a cone-shaped X-ray beam. The cone beam rotates around your head to create a highly detailed 3D image of your mouth to help us accurately design your treatment plan.
Dental Scan with T-Scan
With the dental T-scan computerized system, our dentists have the ability to measure and analyze bite force distribution in patients. It identifies and then corrects the imbalances in a patient’s bite to get the best possible restorations to maintain efficiency and function. It can also help with the adjustment of crowns or implants to improve comfort and reduce the potential for risks such as chronic migraines, TMJ, jaw pain, and premature wear of previous dental work.
Waterlase MD
With the Waterlase MD, patients can enjoy the benefits of laser technology to complete certain dental procedures, such as soft tissue augmentation or removal. This laser provides quiet, comfortable treatment when compared to traditional soft tissue treatments and allows for increased precision, reduced downtime, and faster healing.
iTero Lumina Scanner
The new iTero Lumina Scanner is one of the fastest, most accurate, and most gentle dental intraoral 3-D scanners in all of dentistry. No more fear of gross, gooey impressions done in the dental office! The iTero device simply scans the mouth quickly and painlessly, much like dental X-rays do but without the use of radiation. The iTero device is used to scan patients about to undergo Invisalign treatment and individuals needing dental crowns. It can be used as a permanent record that can be compared to future scans to detect hard-to-notice changes in teeth and gums.
